Still More Genius Of Jankowski

The Shadow Of Your Smile
Still More Genius Of Jankowski
Arranged and Conducted by Horst Jankowski and Bernd Rabe
Produced by Lou Reizner
Mercury Records
SR 61076
1966

From Billboard - March 26, 1966: More keyboard wizardry from the German genius in this delightful program; a potpourri of great international melodies. Top programming and sales results guaranteed.

From the back cover: Horst Jankowski is now occupied with his own radio and TV shows, recording, arranging and composing, that he has been forced to refuse requests to perform and accompany such greats as Benny Goodman and Ella Fitzgerald who have "commanded" his services in the past during their European tours. Jankowski is now a star and recognized as one of the most renowned pianists on the Continent, having come a long way since his first band days with Erwin Lehn, an outstanding German orchestra leader.

Also interesting to note are the honors that have been bestowed on Jankowski here in America. Within six months times, the Bibles of the music business such as Billboard, Cash Box and Record World have acclaimed Jankowski as best Composer, Arranger and Orchestrator. His composition of "A Walk In The Black Forest" has been nominated for the coveted NARAS (National Academy of Records, Arts and Sciences) awards, in not one, but three categories; "Best Instrumental Performance," "Best New Artist" and "Best Instrumental Arrangement."
